I am from Germany. My husband and I have been with Wycliffe Bible Translators since 1982. We went to Papua New Guinea in 1988 to live and work among the Dawawa people, a remote language group in the mountains. Besides being involved in language work, translation, literacy and teachers’ training, I also did a lot of medical work as a licensed nurse. In 1998 we completed a hymn book and in 2003 the New Testament in Dawawa.
After the dedication of the NT, we served in a leadership position, overseeing 20 language teams. This made us very aware that conflicts often arise among Christians and I found myself frequently helping resolve those situations.
Around that time, I was introduced to Biblical Peacemaking classes which were offered on the field. When we were re-assigned to North America, I enrolled with Peacemaker Ministries to become a Certified Christian Conciliator and completed the program in March 2013. I have been serving as conflict coach and mediator since 2008 and have taught classes on biblical conflict resolution in various churches and mission settings around the world.
Over the many years on the field the Lord systematically moved me into this area of biblical peacemaking and I am excited to be able to serve in this way. My desire is to help individuals to glorify God, serve others, and grow to be like Christ, even in the midst of a painful and destructive conflict.
This is me with my family in February 2020. Currently, all of us are living in Abbotsford, BC, Canada.
